After being open only two hours Wednesday afternoon, the Food Pantry had already served 27 families or 80 people.
“When I came in here today these shelves looked great,” said Food Pantry chairperson Margaret Watson, pointing at the shelves that now show large bare spots. “And we’re not done for the day.”
Watson said days at the Food Pantry have been busy and the number of people served has increased.
The Food Pantry spent over $2,000 stocking its shelves last month, Watson said. That number would have been more without donations, she said.
Watson counted nine new people that had been in the Food Pantry that day.
Food donations to the Food Pantry can be dropped off on Wednesdays and Fridays during the Pantry’s regular hours (Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m.), or at another time by calling Watson at 234-1649.
Monetary donations may be mailed to 204 Shimfessel Court, Cynthiana, KY 41031. Checks should be made out to the Harrison County Food Pantry.
