After an uncertain night, Cynthiana and Harrison County residents who live along the South Fork of the Licking River are seeing the river level drop slightly.
At 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service’s Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service was recording lower river levels for Cynthiana. However, by 7:30 a.m. it was back on the rise at 21.8.
On May 4, 2010, it reached 21.92 feet.
However, Grays Run Estates resident Becky Shepperd believes the river has encroached into her subdivision even more than last May’s flood.
