To the editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who were involved in funding and installing the sign and platforms for benches and trash cans at Flat Run Veterans Park. First, I would like to thank United Community Fund for donating $1,000 toward this endeavor. Also, thank you to the County Fiscal Court and the City Council for agreeing to pay half of the remaining balance, which was a very generous amount. Your kind attention was appreciated.
Thanks to Steve Snapp for designing a sign that is great looking and one in which we can be proud of.
Thank you to Charlie Schroder for installing the bench/trash can platforms as well as the foundation for the sign. Charlie also took the time to bolt the plaques beneath the benches. He was not obligated to do this, he offered his time.
Thank you to Hoyt Burns and his Machine Tool and Die class at the Vocational School. I appreciate him and his class taking time to design and paint the new plaques for those who donated benches in memory or honor of loved ones. The Vocational School is certainly an asset to our community.
Thank you in advance to Danny Gasser for offering to donate landscaping around the sign when the weather allows.
Without all of you, this project could have not been completed.
Thank you so much.
