To the editor:

Wow! Bruce Florence, director of MCTC-LVC has pulled off some more of her “magic” up on the hilltop this past weekend! I am referring to the writer’s workshop.

There was a full house at The Prizing House on South Church Street Friday evening, where 15 noted authors set up for a “mini” book fair, wonderful buffet dinner, live folk band from Morehead and a keynote address by Kentucky’s Poet Laureate Gurney Norman.

There was also a workshop on Saturday where 40 participants (estimated ages 20 to 70 plus) intently listened and eagerly participated in sessions with authors Frank X Walker, Diane Gilliam, George Ella Lyon, Anne Shelby, Gurney Norman and Leatha Kendrick.

Mark your 2010 calendar for Sept. 25, when the second annual workshop has been scheduled!

So, thanks Bruce Florence and your supporting staff for a job well done!
