First-half turnovers spell defeat for Thorobreds in Rec Bowl

-A A +A
By Mike Aldridge

Nine turnovers and 15 penalties make it very hard to win.

It only took six seconds to get a five-yard penalty, which set the tone for the first half.

The Harrison County Thorobreds opened the scoring after the teams each had the ball one time without success. Eric Lewis intercepted a Matt Tuttle pass on the 10-yard line and ran it back to his own 30.

On the next play, back-up quarterback Tyler Martin, playing wide receiver, hit Shane Fowler on a 70-yard end-around pass play to make it 6-0 Harrison County.
