A Tuesday morning fire damaged the Isaac and Wachter Roofing storage building on Locust and Pike streets.
According to Cynthiana Fire Chief Jay Sanders, a fire broke out between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in the building that contained roofing materials, including shingles, pitch and tar paper. The business is owned by Al Isaac and Mike Wachter.
“It was one big mess,” Sanders said of the sticky and smelly conditions.
He said the contents of the building were a total loss and the building sustained substantial damage.
