Cynthianas National Guard unit is in the middle of training, preparing to go to Afghanistan in the War on Terror.
The soldiers have been in western Kentucky and now they are in Wisconsin, preparing to enter hostile territory later this spring.
Before they leave, the men and women of the 201st Engineering Battalion, which also includes groups from Ashland, Olive Hill and Prestonsburg as well as Cynthiana, will have four days off to see their families.
The problem is, the military doesnt pay for them to come home.
