Fillies top Pendleton, play Nicholas Co. for title

The Harrison County Fillies played their way into the 10th Region Tournament with a 12-2 opening round win over Pendleton County on Tuesday night in the three-team 38th District Softball Tournament at Shirley Field.

Delayed by one day due to a Monday night rain-out, Harrison County avoided a bases-loaded jam in the top of the first inning. After a couple of walks and an error loaded the bases, Harrison County pitcher Megan Bullock got out of the jam with a strikeout, a pop out and ground out.
