The Harrison County Fillies saw their 13-game winning streak come to an end Friday night as they fell to the Conner Cougars (15-6) 3-1 in the opening game of the Woodford County Tournament.
But the loss may not be the worst thing that happened in this game. Senior shortstop and team leader Rachel Hatfield was carted from the field and taken by ambulance to the hospital with an injured ankle in the third inning with the Fillies trailing 1-0.
The complete nature of the injury is not known at this writing, but Hatfield missed the remainder of the tournament.
