Fillies explode into championship game

The Harrison County Fillies (14-13) tore past the Nicholas County Ladyjackets (7-16) on the Hilltop Monday night to earn the right to play in their 14th consecutive district championship contest. The Fillies out scored Nicholas County 74-25 in the first round of the 38th District Girls Basketball Tournament.

The Fillies picked up their first victory of the season over Nicholas County 58-24 on Dec. 4. On Jan. 25 in Carlisle, however, the Ladyjackets slipped by Harrison County 52-51.
