To the editor,
On Oct. 11, 2008, we faced the most terrible emotions we have ever had to face. Our son, Dalton Ward, was accidentally wounded by a malfunctioning 12 gauge shot gun. He is now at home and recovering extremely well. Dalton and his family don’t know how to ‘thank’ everyone. We are very humbled and grateful to all who’s been involved in his speedy recovery. Thank you to everyone for emotional support, prayers, and gifts. A special thank you to all emergency response teams, helicopter crew, doctors, nurses, physical therapy, occupational therapy, Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department, and Kentucky State Police. A very, very special thank you to Joey Nelson for being an angel on the ground. A brave and strong man, how can we ever thank you? Thank you to Tony Roberts, Greg Roberts, and Patricia Tolliver for helping hands. Thank you to Michelle Fulton for driving mom, dad, and Nana to UK hospital to be with Dalton.
Dalton is doing extremely well. Better than any of us ever dreamed possible. Dalton thanks everyone from his heart. He is a very special eight year old young man. His family will never forget everyone who has helpted us in our time of difficulty. You have all made this holiday season our most important ever.
