An ATM machine at the closed branch of Kentucky Bank on North Main Street was damaged in an apparent attempt to get money.
Cynthiana Ptl. Scott Loechel said a passerby alerted him to the machine’s damage on Monday morning.
“It looked like someone had pried it open with a small crow bar, but more likely a big screw driver,” Loechel said.
Since the branch closed on May 7, there has not been any money inside the ATM. He said early estimates of the damage is $1,100.
