To the editor:
On Dec. 24, 2009, Dailey’s Body Shop/Towing Service gave away a brand new scooter in hopes of making someone’s Christmas a little brighter. The winner of the scooter, Jennifer Edwards, who has two school-age children, was ecstatic when she found out her name had been drawn.
Unfortunately, that feeling didn’t last long. Two days after Christmas, the Edwards’ home was broken into and several Christmas presents and belongings - including the scooter - were stolen while the family was at a Christmas dinner. Evidently, someone out there felt as if they deserved someone else’s Christmas more than the family that had it.
To the grinch out there, if you needed the things you took from that family that badly, I’m sure if you just asked, our tight-knit community could have pulled together and helped you out as much as we could. You didn’t have to rob someone else of their Christmas. I hope you can live with the choices you have made.
