It was at the 11th hour last year that a huge influx of photograph submissions for the Yearbook were received.
Here we are again and I’m still awaiting pictures from events that occurred in Harrison County during 2010 or those involving our local citizenry.
The deadline for this year’s book is Wednesday, Dec. 1.
What we are interested in are photographs that our readers captured. Obviously, the news staff at The Cynthiana Democrat cannot be at every event. Therefore, this is a way for your event to be documented.
I’m certain there are pictures from the Kentucky State Fair of Harrison County youths. Does anyone have photographs from speech tournaments? How about some candid shots of students on band trips?
Harrison County has an archery team. Does anyone have any photographs from their events?
Certainly pictures from events at any of Cynthiana and Harrison County parks would be welcome as would Berry events.
Last year’s yearbook was very well received. I had several comments after it came out in print from those who wished they had submitted something.
Well, here is your opportunity!
When you submit your pictures, please include the name of the photographer, when and where the photo was taken and information about the event or identifying people in the photograph. Also, a telephone number of where you can be reached during the day would be helpful. If we have questions we can call you. If we can’t reach you, your picture will likely not be included.
Next on the list is to drop those pictures off at the Democrat office at 302 Webster Ave. or e-mail to bbarnes@cynthianademocrat.com.
For printing purposes, we have to have high resolution photographs. Generally, cellphone pictures do not print well. Those will have to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. Also, photocopies of pictures will not work.
If you want to drop off a picture, it needs to be a quality print.
Again, that Dec. 1 deadline is fast approaching. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
