Battling for Beth fund-raiser is Saturday
Friends and family of Beth Slade will host an event on Saturday, Oct. 6, to help raise funds to cover her medical costs. Slade was recently diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and has started treatments. Her medical bills are beginning to come in. She raised two sons with special needs, one of whom died two years ago. The other is a freshman in college.
The event will be held at the Harrison County courthouse and will include a yard sale, bake sale, vendors, gospel singing and baskets for auction.
There will also be a motorcycle benefit ride. Registration will be between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. with the ride beginning at 10 a.m.
In the event of inclement weather, everything will be moved to the First Church of God on U.S. 27 North, and the benefit ride will be rescheduled.
For more information, call 502-863-7900, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

These men and women will be conducting tours of the new facility for visitors.
