The Harrison County Democratic Woman’s Club met Friday, July 27 at Hospice with Layne Tussey catering the event. Michelle Barnett, president, presided and welcomed everyone. The blessing was given by Sue McKee and also led the Democratic Creed and Pledge of Allegiance.
Judge Executive Alex Barnett introduced the new Economic Development recruiter Darlene Bussell. She expressed a desire to bring new industry to our community. She also reminded all that our community has many entities that are an asset in attracting business. Bussell plans to work hard and welcomed everyones support and encouragement.
Plans are being made for participation in The Taste of Harrison County on the courthouse lawn on Sept. 8. A pig roast will be held at the Elk’s Club on Monday, Oct. 8. Plans are also being made for the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner. The date will be announced later.
On Monday, Aug. 27 at 5:30 p.m., Sue Lake will chair the annual auction/fundraiser at the Vault. The funds raised at this event will be used for a scholarship. Items will be collected at the office of Sue Lake.
