Cynthiana Sin The’ Shaolin testing, advancement and competition held

Members of the Cynthiana Sin The’ Shaolin Karate Club have had a busy summer and fall. Grand Master Sin Kwang The’ from California visited the school and tested members for rank advancement.

Five members of the group also competed in Lexington at the Sin The’ Shaolin Fall Tournament on Sept. 12. In the youth brown belt division, Whitley Lemons won third place sparring, third empty hand, and third in weapons. Bailee Thornsberry won second place in sparring. In the teen green belt division C.J. Cook won third place in sparring. In the first and second black belt division Shalyn Barnes won second in weapons and second in sparring. In the upper black belt division, Cassie Mullins won fourth in weapons and fourth in forms.
