Feb. 16 – At 9:54 p.m., police were asked by Blake Niman to check a gun registration to see if it was clear. The serial number was that of a stolen weapon. Police checked back through the last owners and traced it to Falmouth where it had last been checked. That owner said it had been cleared then.
Feb. 17 – At 9:50 a.m., Marilyn Bell, Cherry Lane, reported that a vehicle was parked in her neighbor’s driveway and that the neighbor had died a few days ago so no one should be there. Another neighbor took down the license number while Bell confronted the alleged trespasser, who told her he was an FBI informant and was to meet someone at that residence. The man left and police went to his home and told him not to return.
Feb. 17 – At 1:53 p.m., Leonard Shanks reported that checks from a closed account were stolen from his home and several were cashed in Cynthiana and Paris. The Cynthiana checks totaled $895.23.
Feb. 17 – At 6:18 p.m., four juvenile subjects were cited for trespassing at the Handy House at Flat Run Veterans’ Park. The juveniles told police they were told they could go there and play. They were released to the custody of their parents.
Feb. 18 – At 1:11 a.m., Zina Thornburg, a Shell Mart clerk, reported that she had three $1 bills that had a white powdery substance on them. The bills were seized by police.
Feb. 18 – At 2:42 a.m., Candis Mitchell, Cynthiana, reported that the windshield was busted out of her car with a baseball bat during an altercation on Elmarch Avenue.
Feb. 18 – At 8:48 a.m., T.J. Barnes, Berry, reported that his vehicle was spray painted while it parked on Chelsea Drive overnight. Several other vehicles parked in the neighborhood were also vandalized.
Feb. 18 – At 11:54 a.m., Anthony Young reported that he was threatened by an individual who had purchased a car from him. The man came into the home where Young was staying and overturned a television.
Feb. 18 – At 5:45 a.m., police were called to a disturbance at Locust and Pleasant. The altercation had actually occurred on Pearl at Poplar streets. The people involved were told to separate or they would be arrested.
Feb. 18 – At 6:11 p.m., police were called to Federal Drive in reference to a father and son being threatened by another man.
Feb. 18 – At 9:27 p.m., Charity Current reported that her bank debit card fell out of her pocket in McDonald’s parking lot. When she went back the card was gone.
Feb. 18 – At 11:12 p.m., police were dispatched to a domestic on Newsom Avenue. When police arrived, they heard a shot from inside the residence and the victim ran outside. He was ordered to the ground and the woman inside the house also came out with a small caliber handgun in her hand. Police arrested Kerrie Alvarez.
Feb. 19 – At 6:34 a.m., police were called to Shady Lawn Nursing Home where a resident was reported to be out of control.
Feb. 19 – At 12:56 p.m., police were called to Walmart where a woman was alleged to be dragging a child around on the floor by a harness and had smacked the child in the head.
Feb. 19 – At 2:47 p.m., Angie Richmond, Hinkston Avenue, reported that while she and her husband were out of town over the weekend someone broke into their residence and stole $2,290 worth of electronics and other miscellaneous items.
Feb. 19 – At 4:02 p.m., Opal Burkhart, Cynthiana, reported that her mother’s wallet was taken while they were at either Movie Warehouse or Walmart. The wallet contained over $300 in cash and two credit cards.
Feb. 19 – At 7:06 p.m., police were called to a property dispute on Fourth Street. Jeff Kiskaden advised police that he did not want Amber Fick back at his residence. She was told by police to seek a small claims suit against Kiskaden for the property in question.
Feb. 19 – At 8:02 p.m., police were called to Hinkston Avenue at Second Street for a disturbance regarding alleged rumors about a break in on Hinkston Avenue and who had committed the crime.
Feb. 20 – At 11:15 a.m., it was reported that a juvenile boy was struck in the face and jaw by another student as he was getting on the school bus at Southside Elementary.
Feb. 20 – At 2 p.m., police were contacted regarding a juvenile girl being harassed by another juvenile.
