C.J. Current, 56, will be seeking election as Harrison County Jailer.
Current has worked for the City of Cynthiana for the last 14 years, first in the Division of Sanitation and currently with the public works department.
He was a youth football coach for eight years and a member of the Oakwood Baptist Church.
“I have been in public service most of my adult like and I would like to continue that as jailer,” Current said.
Current and his wife Mary Fryman Current have three daughters, Cherity Rowel, Cynthia Brown and Chrissie Derren. They also have five grandchildren, Jordan Berry, Josie Brown, Leland Rowel, Clayton Rowel and Christian Derren.
Current graduated from Lafayette High School in 1975.
He is retired from the U.S. Army and the Kentucky National Guard, HHB 138th FA, which he served 22 years.
After his retirement in 1998, he drove a truck and was owner of the cab station in Cynthiana.
