For the fourth month in a row, Harrison County’s unemployment rate dropped.

In January, 12.2 percent of Harrison County’s labor force was unemployed. Over the last six months that number has steadily dropped to 10.4 percent.

According to figures released this week by the Kentucky Labor Cabinet, Harrison County was one of eight counties in the 17-county Bluegrass Area Development District to show a drop in unemployment between May and June.

Statewide, the unemployment figure remained the same during the one-month period at 10.1 percent.
