Negotiations are incomplete for the purchase of property in the Claysville area, but it appears Harrison County will soon have a 300-acre nature preserve/outdoor education area.
At Tuesday’s Harrison County Fiscal Court meeting, members voted 6-2 to spend a Heritage Land Conservation Grant for $450,000 for property owned by Maryanna Robinson.
According to Judge-Executive Alex Barnett, the county will have to pick up the cost of the house that is on the property. The grant does not allow for the purchase of dwellings, he said.
