It appears that it will likely be May before bids are taken on the construction of the new U.S. 27 North bridge/viaduct.
According to Nancy Wood, District 6 public information officer for the Transportation Cabinet, the hold up is acquisition of some of the properties involved.
“Since we don’t have the properties in hand, we can’t legally proceed,” Wood said.
Initially, the bid letting was supposed to occur in October. However, that soon turned to February and now May.
