Encouraging students to explore rewarding careers in the commercial, residential and highway construction industries has become synonymous with the Kentucky Construction Career Choice Council (K4C). This year, 27 KY Tech-Harrison Co. ATC students “got involved” in the ninth annual Construction Career Days event held September 25th at the Shelby County Fairgrounds. The Construction Career Days event has become the golden opportunity for students to participate in a wide variety of hands-on experiences in a world of heavy equipment, simulators, highway construction, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, utility and welding activities (just to name a few). As a result, this practical event has caught the attention of career and technical teachers and their students from all over Kentucky. Success speaks for itself because the K4C has developed this well crafted annual event to positively promote construction careersThese students attend classes in Construction, Welding, Automotive, Machine Tool and Information Technology.
