THURSDAY, Aug. 5

Women’s Book Club selection for the month of August is "Follow the River" by James Alexander Thom. The book is available for pick-up at the front desk at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Will meet Thursday, Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

FRIDAY, Aug. 6

Cynthiana Cycling Club. The Cynthiana Cycling Club conducts a bicycle building and repair clinic every Friday evening at Peter and Kim Newberry's farm, to build and repair bicycles for the group bicycle rides on Saturdays and Sundays aimed at providing the youth of our community a recreational activity as an alternative to drug and substance abuse, to encourage family participation in group bicycle rides and improve the quality of life in the community. If anyone knows of a child in need of a bicycle, have a used bicycle to donate, or if interested in helping repair or assemble bicycles call Peter Newberry at 234-5285.

HCHS Class of 1980. The Harrison County High School Class of 1980 will hold their 30 year class reunion on Friday, Aug. 6, at the Cynthiana Country Club from 7 p.m. til 12 p.m. Cost prior to July 9 is $20 single/$35 Couple. Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Aug. 6 at Beacon House at 10:30 a.m.; Our Little Miracles at 11 a.m.; and in Robynwood Heights at 2 p.m.

Blood Drive. Friday, Aug. 6 from 2-6 p.m. on the KBC Bloodmobile at Walmart, US 27 S. All donors will be eligible to win a $5,000 travel package-destination of their choice and will receive a $10 Walmart gift card. Donors must be 17-years-old (16 with a signed parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs. and be in general good health.

SUNDAY, Aug. 8

Champions Cycling Club. The Champions Cycling Club Weekly Bicycle Ride is held every Sunday at 4 p.m. at a location to be determined, weather permitting. Call for ride time and location. All teenagers (and younger riders if accompanied by an adult) and adults are invited, both beginners and experienced bicyclists are encouraged to join this group ride. All riders receive a free highly-visible Cycling Club T-Shirt. If needed, bicycles and helmets will be provided, but all riders must contact Peter Newberry at 234-5285 by Friday evening to reserve a bike and/or helmet. If anyone knows of a child in need of a bicycle, contact Newberry.

MONDAY, Aug. 9

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Monday, Aug. 9 at Community Action Childcare Center/Harrison County Adult Center at 10:30 a.m.; Robinson Road at 2 p.m.; and Hinton Road at 3 p.m.

Champion For A Drug-Free Harrison County will meet Monday, Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month.

TUESDAY, Aug. 10

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Tuesday, Aug. 10 at Lebus 10:30 a.m.; Edgemont at 11 a.m.; and White Oak at 11:30 a.m.

Story Hour. Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. and at 4:30 p.m. for ages 2-5 at the Feix Community Room at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Pre-registration is not needed.

Harrison County Board of Adjustment will meet Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Planning Commission Office at the Harrison County Courthouse, South Main Street. Meetings are open to the public.

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 11

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Wednesday, Aug. 11 in Antioch at 2 p.m.

Library Closed. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 11 and Thursday, Aug. 12 for software installation. Will reopen Aug. 13 at 9 a.m.
