Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Aug. 7 in Robynwood Heights from 2-2:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, Aug. 8

Back to School Fun Day. Berry Lions Club will host a ‘Back to School Fun Day’ on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 2-4 p.m. at the Berry Lions Club Hall. Fun and free for all ages. Will meet and read with “Cat in the Hat” and “Spider-Man.” Refreshments provided. Games, crafts, goody bags, prizes, and a drawing for two bicycles (boy’s and girl’s).

MONDAY, Aug. 10

Northside Council. Northside Elementary Site Based Council will meet Monday, Aug. 10 at 3:45 p.m. in the Northside library. The public is invited to attend.

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Monday, Aug. 10 at the Harrison County Adult Daycare and Community Action Childcare Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Champions for a Drug Free Harrison County will meet Monday, Aug. 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

TUESDAY, Aug. 11

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Tuesday, Aug. 11 in Claysville at 10:30 a.m.; Edgemont from 2:30-2:45 p.m.; White Oak from 3-4 p.m.; and Locust from 4:10-4:30 p.m.

Special Performance. Sunday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m., the Cynthiana Arts Council and the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will sponsor a performance by the Muses, a Celtic folk group, at the Rohs Opera House. There will also be a short presentation by the Lexington Irish Dancers-a traditional Irish step dancing group. This will also be the time when Summer Reading prizes will be handed out. The concert, like all library events is free and open to the public.

Cynthiana Fire Department Parade. The Cynthiana Fire Department will host a parade on Saturday, Oct. 3. Special events will be held for the community beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will be at 2 p.m. The Cynthiana Fire Department is hoping to include floats and parade participants from the community. Honor Flight. Are you a World War II veteran? Are you familiar with the free trips to Washington, D.C. to see the memorial? Honor Flight - Bluegrass Chapter, sponsors free monthly flights, March through October, from Louisville to Baltimore and then by bus to Washington to visit the WWII, Korean, and Iwo Jima flag raising memorials. Head Start Program. Head Start-Community Action Council, is a comprehensive federally funded child development program for low-income families and children with disabilities. Early Head Start. Works with families that are expecting a child or have children under three years. The program provides intensive care for children through quality child development services in a center or home-based setting.
