Mum Sale.
Harrison Memorial Hospital Relay for Life will sponsor a Mum Sale on Aug. 28 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the HMH front lawn. Ten colors to choose from. Cost is $12 each
Bug Out. Thursday, Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. “Bug Out” to the icky classics or How To Eat Fried Worms and Hi! Fly Guy in the basement of the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church for kindergarten through 5th grade. Pre-registration is appreciated.
Women’s Book Group. Thursday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. in the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library annex to discuss the book High Society: The Life of Grace Kelly by Donald Spoto. Copies of the book are available for check out at the front desk.

Senior Citizens Cookout.
The Senior Citizens Center will host a cookout at 1842 South United Lane, Cynthiana, at the farm of Marie Graves on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. Tents provided and music by Montgomery Gospel. For information contact Graves at 859-235-0252.
NAACP Fund Gala. The Cynthiana/Harrison County Branch of the NAACP National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Freedom Fund Gala will be Aug. 30 at the Harrison County Middle School, 209 Education Dr. Robert Bell will be the keynote speaker will be doing the portrayal of The Rev. Newton Bush. Donations are accepted.

****** Library Temporarily Moving. On Sept. 8, the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will move across the street to the Charles Feix Annex at 101 W. Pleasant St. until further notice. Limited services will be offered. Hours will be the same as they currently are. The main building will be closed to the public.  Will offer 10 laptop computers, new materials, magazines, and newspapers. Limited copying and faxing will be offered. Bookmobile services will continue as usual. Children’s programming will continue to take place in the basement of the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church. If anyone needs other things done, please ask. We may be able to accommodate. All old items can be reserved and picked up after being notified.*******

Hospice of the Bluegrass Grief Camp. Camp HOPE will be a one-day free retreat on Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for children, ages 6 to 12, who have experienced the death of a loved one within the past two years, at the Hospice of the Bluegrass Center for Grief and Education, 2409 Greatstone Point, Lexington, Ky. Caregivers of the children are also invited to attend. Chalk It Up. Thursday, Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m. All ages are invited to come as chalk will be used to play all types of games and create own artwork. Program will take place in the basement of the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church. Pre-registration is appreciated.
Tell Me About My Town. A walking tour of downtown Cynthiana with Emily Ammerman on Friday, Sept. 12. Registration due by Sept. 4. Cost is $5. Looking at the history of buildings from previous owner/operators to the architecture of the buildings. For more information on registration call 234-6689.
HCHS Class of 1974 reunion. The Harrison County High School Class of 1974 reunion will be held Sept. 13 at the Cynthiana Country Club. For more information call Gary Lail at 859-588-0689.
Chautauqua Days of Millersburg. The annual Fall Festival will be Sept. 12, 13, and 14. Music by Bryan White and Jesse Keith Whitley on Friday and Saturday night. This year will be filled with events for all members of the family. Kids will enjoy inflatables, pugil sticks, games and a horse drawn wagon rides. There will be a beauty pageant, cloggers, corn-hole tournament, live music, classic cars, motorcycles, antique tractors, and a fire fighter engine display.
HCHS Class of 1994. The Harrison County High School Class of 1994 reunion will be held Sept. 27 at the Cynthiana Country Club from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. Free refreshments, cash bar, and music by Shane Mattox. Senior Citizens Board Meeting. The Harrison County Senior Citizens Board meets on the third Thursday of each month.
Antioch-Robinson Homemaker Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Antioch Mills Christian Church, US Hwy. 27 N. Enjoy getting together for fellowship as well as learning new information on various topics from the lessons and min-lessons.
