Fabulous Fourth Celebration will be held Friday, July 4 at Flat Run Veteran’s Park. Admission is $5 per vehicle. Gates open at 6 p.m. Music by Jo Jo Gunn, food and fun. Flag raising ceremony at 8 p.m., fireworks at dusk. (Rain date is Saturday, July 5). Presented by the Cynthiana Rotary Club.

L.I.T. Program. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library L.I.T. (Leaders In Training) program for library teen volunteers will be held Tuesday, July 8 at 2 p.m.
Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, July 8, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, July 8, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Tuesday, July 8 at Leesburg Store at Noon; Grays Run, 3 p.m.
Bourbon Community Hospital wishes to notify the public that their phone system will be down on July 8 from 9:30-11:30 p.m. for maintenance. From time to time it is necessary to make enhancements and adjustments to the phone system that requires it to be out of service. This down time for maintenance will not affect the hospital’s communications with emergency services such as police, fire and ambulance. In the event of an emergency, always call 911. The toll free physician referral line 888-847-DOCS will not be affected.

Northside Council. The Northside Site Based Council will hold a special meeting Wednesday, July 9 at 9:30 a.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend.
Cow Pie Bingo. Wednesday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Fairgrounds at the demo derby track. Tickets are $5 or 5 for $20 and are available at Biancke’s, Harrison Vet Clinic, Cynthiana Vision Center, Brooks Animal Clinic, Animal House and prior to event at the fair. The event is sponsored by the Humane Society of Harrison County. All proceeds to help animals in Harrison County.
Storytime: Make It Fly. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library storytime will be held Wednesday, July 9 at 10 a.m. for kindergarten through 5th grade. Please pre-register.

Water Aerobics. A Water Aerobics class will be held through Sept. 1 at the Cynthiana Country Club pool from 9-10 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. NAMI Family Support Group. (National Alliance on Mental Illness). A peer-lead support group for loved ones (18 and older) of individuals living with mental illness.
