THURSDAY, July 1

Prize Book Store. Will be open from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, July 1 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Turn in reading logs and get a free book.

Movie Night. Tuesday, July 1 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Will be watching a movie while enjoying pizza, popcorn, and soda. This program is for adult patrons and pre-registration is required.

FRIDAY, July 2

Harrison County Educational Foundation is now accepting applications school loans for the 2010-2011 school year. If you are a graduate of a Harrison County school and would like to apply, you may pick up an application at Maysville Community College or at the guidance office at Harrison County High School. You may also call 588-2424 for an application. Completed applications, along with most recent grade transcript, must be submitted by July 2, 2010. Cynthiana Cycling Club. The Cynthiana Cycling Club will be conducting a bicycle building and repair clinic on Friday evening, July 2, at Peter and Kim Newberry's farm, for the group bicycle rides on Saturdays and Sundays aimed at providing the youth of our community a recreational activity as an alternative to drug and substance abuse, to encourage family participation in group bicycle rides and improve the quality of life in our community. If anyone knows of a child in need of a bicycle, have a used bicycle to donate, or if interested in helping repair or assemble bicycles Friday evening, call Newberry at 234-5285.

Lightning Thief Teen Summer Book Club. Friday, July 2 at 12:30 p.m. Check out this book at the circulation desk in the children’s room in order to participate. Grades 5 and up are welcome. Have the chance to win the Newly released DVD. Play games fit for Olympians.

SUNDAY, July 4

Kentucky Champions Cycling Club. The Kentucky Champions Cycling Club Weekly Bicycle Ride will be held Sunday, July 4 at 4 p.m. at a location to be determined, weather permitting. Call for ride time and location. All teenagers (and younger riders if accompanied by an adult) and adults are invited to ride, both beginners and experienced bicyclists. All riders receive a free highly-visible Cycling Club T-Shirt. If needed, bicycles and helmets will be provided. All riders must contact Peter or Kim Newberry at 234-5285 by Friday, June 18 to reserve a bike and/ or helmet. If anyone  knows of a child in need of a bicycle, contact Newberry.

MONDAY, July 5

Holiday Closing. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will be closed on Monday, July 5 in observance of the Fourth of July. It will reopen on Tuesday, July 6 at 9 a.m.

TUESDAY, July 6

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Tuesday, July 6 at Toddler Village at 10:30 a.m.; Terrace Park Child Development Center at 11 a.m.; and Cedar Ridge at 2 p.m.

Storytime. Tuesday, July 6 for ages 2-5 from 10-10:45 a.m.  and Lap-Sit for ages birth to 2 from 11-11.45 a.m.

HCHS Council. The Harrison County High School Site Based Decision Making Council will meet July 6 at 4:30 p.m. in the school library.

WEDNESDAY, July 7

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Wednesday, July 7 at Kids Club at 10:30 a.m.

Story and Craft Program. Wednesday, July 7, reading Jenny Jellyfish and making our own Moon Jellys, for grades K-3 from 10-11 a.m. and  grades 4-5 from 2-3 p.m.

Library Cookbook is now in. Pick up a copy of Eat Between The Lines, $10 each. Proceeds from the cookbook will go towards funding programming at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.

Renaker School Alumni Reunion. The Renaker School Alumni Reunion will be on July 17 at  6 p.m. at the Calvary Assembly of God’s Church. Harrison County Beekeepers. Potluck for all Harrison County beekeepers on Sunday, July 18 at the Martin Farm. The farm is located at 297 Lowery Lane.
