Grant Development 101. Registration for Grant Development 101 will be Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cynthiana Licking Valley Campus or at the Paris Extension Campus from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $29.
The Harrison County Historical Society will meet Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Eastside Elementary School social studies teacher, Denise Marshall, will be the speaker. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
FRIDAY, Nov. 21
Night of Thanks. Featuring "Far From West" Leesburg Christian Church Band. Sponsored by the Cynthiana Rotary Club. Friday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the HCHS auditorium. Adults $10, students $7.50, children free. To benefit Relay For Life. Everyone is invited.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Nov. 21 in Robynwood Heights at 2 p.m.
Story Hour. Friday, Nov. 21 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. for ages 2-5 in the Feix Community Room at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Pre-registration is not needed.
Twilight Ball. Friday, Nov. 21 at Roh's Opera House following the movie (will start about 9:15 p.m.). If attending the movie the cost will be $5. Advance tickets available at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library or Roh's. There is no cost for the ball itself.
HMH Auxiliary. The Harrison Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be having their annual Bake and Craft Sale on Friday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. There will an abundance of items to choose from.
Baked Spaghetti Dinner, salad and bread, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals can be delivered. Orders can be placed starting Wednesday by calling 234-2702 and ask for Joanie or Marilyn or stop by Cedar Ridge on Oddville Avenue. Cost is $4 per meal. A raffle for a $100 Visa card will be held with tickets $1 each or 6 for $5. Proceeds to go to Shop with a Cop and the Humane Society.

St. Edward Altar Society will hold a pre-Thanksgiving Bake Sale in front of Wal-Mart on Saturday, Nov. 22 beginning at 9 a.m. Cakes, pies, cookies, breads, rolls, etc. will be available for the Thanksgiving table.

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Monday, Nov. 24 at Community Action and Harrison County Adult Daycare at 10:30 a.m.; and in Hinton at 3 p.m.
TUESDAY, Nov. 25
Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, Nov. 25, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, Nov. 25, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.

Public Library Closed. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 in honor of Thanksgiving and will reopen Saturday, Nov. 29 at 9 a.m.

Harrison Circuit Court Clerk's Office Closings. The Harrison County Circuit Court Clerk's office will be closed on the following dates: Thursday, Nov. 27, Friday, Nov. 28, and Saturday, Nov. 29.
Food for the Holiday. For the month of November and December, the Galactic Alley Bowling Center and the Bowlers that's Us Relay for Life team are asking each bowler to bring a can of food or non-perishable item each time they bowl for these two months to donate to the Harrison County Food Pantry. Boxes are provided at the Bowling Alley for the food.
Democratic Woman's Club of Harrison County is now accepting 2009 scholarship applications, and may be picked up at Harrison County High School from Mrs. Judy-counselor, Jennifer Smith-teacher, or by contacting any member of the club. Applications must be turned in by Jan. 5, 2009.

Honor Flight - Bluegrass Chapter, sponsors free monthly flights, March through October, from Louisville to Baltimore and then by bus to Washington to visit the WWII, Korean, and Iwo Jima flag raising memorials. Clothing Closet. The Harrison County Clothing Closet is in need of adults and childrens underwear. Money donations are also accepted.
