MCTC Graduation. The Licking Valley Campus of Maysville Community and Technical College will host its Graduation celebration on Thursday, May 6 at 5:30 p.m. at the Prizing House in Cynthiana. The celebration will honor graduates of the summer and fall 2009 semesters as well as spring 2010 semester. This will be LVC’s largest graduating class to date with 67 students. The Commencement for MCTC will be held Friday, May 7 at the Maysville Campus.

Letter Carrier Food Drive. The letter carriers will be collecting non-perishable food items on Saturday, May 8 to be donated to the local food pantry. Food items should be placed in a bag and placed by the mailbox and the letter carrier will pick it up.
Cow Pie Bingo and Mutton Bustin'. The Harrison County Youth Livestock Club will host mutton bustin’ and cow pie bingo on Saturday, May 8, at the 4-H Fairgrounds off US 27 S. Mutton bustin’ will begin a 6 p.m., with cow pie bingo taking place later that evening. Gate admission is $5 per person or $15 for a car load. Entry forms for mutton bustin’ participants are still being accepted. To be eligible, the child must be 10 years old or under and can’t weigh over 70 pounds. Cow pie bingo tickets continue to be sold for $10 and can be purchased from any Youth Livestock Club member or at the Harrison County Extension Office. All proceeds from the event go to the Youth Livestock Club.
Deming Cornhole Tournament. Saturday, May 8 at Deming High School gymnasium in Robertson County, Ky. $300 first place prize, $200 second and $100 third. American Cornhole Association rules. Bring your own partner, $30 per team preregistered, or $40 on the day of the event. No pros or semi-pros allowed. A preregistration form can be downloaded from the Robertson County Schools webpage, otherwise registration will be 9-10 a.m. and tournament play will begin at 10 a.m. Concession will be sold throughout the day. Extra games will be played for cash prizes throughout the day. All proceeds will go to the Deming Class of 2012.

DAR. Cynthiana Chapter of DAR will meet Saturday, May 8 at noon at Howard's Place on US 27 in Falmouth. The program will be on the Pendleton County history and women who may be interested in joining the DAR.

Car Cruise-In and Cornhole Tournament. The United Community of Cynthiana and Harrison County will host a car cruise-in and cornhole tournament on Saturday, May 22 in downtown Cynthiana. The cruise-in will be from 3-5 p.m., with the cornhole tournament beginning at 5 p.m. There is no entry fee for the cruise-in. Streetrods, musclecars, classics and antique cars are welcomed. 4-H Camp. The Harrison County 4-H Camp is scheduled for Tuesday-Friday, June 29-July 2 at North Central 4-H Camp in Nicholas County.
