THURSDAY, March 4

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Thursday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. in Claysville; 2:30 p.m. at Edgemont; and from 3-3:30 p.m. in White Oak.

FRIDAY, March 5

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cynthiana Baptist Daycare; and from 3-4 p.m. at Grand Haven.

SATURDAY, March 6

Boy Scout Chili Supper. Saturday, March 6, 4-8 p.m. at United Methodist Church. Tickets are $5 and includes chili, sandwich, drink, and dessert. All proceeds go to support Boy Scout Troop 60.

SUNDAY, March 7

Cynthiana Cycling Club. The Cynthiana Cycling Club Weekly Bicycle Ride will be held Sunday afternoon, March 7, weather permitting (above 40 degrees and dry roads). All teenagers (and younger riders if accompanied by an adult) and adults are invited to ride, both beginners and experienced. All riders receive a free highly-visible screaming yellow Cycling Club t-shirt. If needed, bicycles and helmets will also be provided for all wishing to ride, but all riders must contact Peter or Kim Newberry at 234-5285 prior to Saturday, March 6 to reserve a bike and/or helmet and for more information.

MONDAY, March 8

Northside Council. The Northside Site Based Council will meet Monday, March 8 at 3:45 p.m. in the Northside library. The public is invited to attend.

Champion For A Drug-Free Harrison County will meet Monday, March 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month.

Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, March 9, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.

Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, March 9, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.

Preschool Storytime. Tuesday, March 9 from 10-10:30 a.m. for ages 2-5 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Wednesday, March 10 at Northside from 9:30 a.m. to noon; in Antioch from 2-3 p.m.; and Cedarbrook from 3-3:45 p.m.

The Story of Maggie Delaney. Thursday, March 18 at 7 p.m. Presented by the Harrison County Historical Society and the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library in the library annex. The story of Maggie Delaney who was forced from Ireland, along with her family, who came to the American colonies as an Indentured Servant hoping to find a better life in the 17th and 18th centuries. Instead, she found sorrow and hardship as a “white slave” forced to serve whatever master bought her. (Recommended for ages over 12).

Psycho-Educational Group (for adult survivors of sexual assault or childhood sexual abuse). The Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center will be offering a nine-week psycho-educational group for adult survivors of sexual assault or childhood sexual abuse in the Lexington office on Mondays, Feb. 1 through March 29, 2010. Library Cookbook. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library is preparing a cookbook featuring favorite recipes from members of the community. Names will be printed with each recipe submitted.
