WEDNESDAY, Aug. 25

Book Club. The newest book club selection is Funny Cide: How a Horse, a Trainer, a Jockey, and a Bunch of High School Buddies Took on The Sheiks and Bluebloods…and Won by The Funny Cide Team with Sally Jenkins. Annual Bike Race. The Ninth annual Reverend Ross Park Bike Race will be held Aug. 28 for ages 5 to 12. Entry fee is a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food pantry. Registration is at 9:30 a.m., race begins at 10 a.m. Grand prize will be a bike and helmet to the boy and girl winner. First and second place plaques will be awarded by each age group for both boy and girl. Traditional Pow-Wow. The Cynthiana Elks Lodge will host the first Traditional Pow-Wow Oct. 2 and 3. The event will feature Native American singing and dancing, food, arts and crafts.
