The speaker will be Charlene Wilson who will present a program about area one-room schools. She has done additional research and updated her program since last presenting it a few years ago. FRIDAY, April 17
Harrison County 4-H Fashion Revue. Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at the Harrison County High School. The community is invited to attend.
Art Show. Courthouse Square Arts Guild and Blue Licks State Resort Park will be hosting their 4th annual Young Artists of Kentucky student art show April 17-19 at Blue Licks State Park. There is no entry fee and no admission charge. All participants and their families are invited to a reception Friday April 17 from 7-9 p.m.

Wedco’s Stop Smoking Information Class. Wedco District Health Department will be sponsoring a Stop Smoking Information Class Monday, April 20 at Harrison County Health Center community room at 5 p.m. Registrations for classes will be taken after the information class. Earth Day Tree Give-away. Wednesday, April 22 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. The library will be giving away trees to the first 100 patrons.
C.H.S. Alumni. The Cynthiana High School Alumni Association will be raffling a UK Print signed by Coach Joe B. Hall and can be seen at A Touch of Charm. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10.
Foster Care Volunteers Needed. The Harrison/Pendleton County Citizen Foster Care Review board is seeking volunteers of local foster children. Volunteers are needed to review cases of children placed in foster care.Volunteers are not required to reside in Harrison and Pendleton counties, but must complete a six-hour training session and consent to a criminal record and central registry check. Legal Aid Volunteers Needed. Legal Aid of the Bluegrass’ Bluegrass State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), a non-profit organization, is recruiting volunteers to assist with its mission. Pre-K, Kindergarten Registration for the 2009-2110 school year will be held for all elementary schools at the Community Education Center, 308 Webster Ave. on Wednesday, April 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Thursday, April 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2009.
