SATURDAY, May 3
Tickets Now Available for Derby Day Event. Hospice of the Bluegrass will host Get Down and Derby in Cynthiana on May 3 (Derby Day) at The Prizing House from 5-9 p.m. The event will include hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, casino style games, music by Tim Jennens, dancing, an auction, big screen televisions to watch Derby festivities and Derby door prizes. All proceeds from the event will be used to care for terminally ill patients and their families in Harrison, Bourbon, Scott, Nicholas and southern Grant counties.
Meet the Candidates Breakfast and Silent Auction. Saturday, May 3 at 8 a.m. at First United Methodist Church at the corner of Church and Pike Streets. Come meet the candidates for the upcoming primary elections and enjoy breakfast too. There will also be opportunities to bid on silent auction items all morning long.

Story Time: Moms. Tuesday, May 6 at 10 a.m. for ages 6 months to 5 years at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.

WEDNESDAY, May 7
Lego Club. Wednesday, May 7 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library for all ages. Drop in anytime from 4 to 6 p.m. If possible bring a sandwich bag of lego pieces to donate to the collection. Lego Club is made possible in part by a donation in memory of Marquerite “Sug” Kuster.

Community Day Celebration. The Harrison County Homemaker Community Day Celebration will be held Friday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Courthouse Square. Offering: Bake sale, Kentucky Bloodmobile, Green Thumb, door prizes, demonstrations and exhibits. The Harrison County Beef Cattle Association will be cooking steak sandwiches and hamburgers. Food Drive. The National Association of Letter Carriers’ Food Drive to Help Stamp Out Hunger in America will be held Saturday, May 10.
DAR. The Cynthiana Chapter DAR will meet Saturday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum.
Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum. Donnie Cooper will display his private collecton of Native American artifacts on May 10 from 1-4 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum.

NAMI Family Support Group. (National Alliance on Mental Illness). A peer-lead support group for loved ones (18 and older) of individuals living with mental illness. Harrison County Republican Party meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month. Meetings are held in the Sheriff’s Office at 7 p.m.

LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month. The meetings will be held at a different location for approximately 2 to 3 month. Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
Cynthiana-Harrison County Parks and Recreation Committee will meet on the Monday before the last monthly fiscal court meeting at 5 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff’s office. These meetings are open to the public.
