Book Signing. March 8 at the Pendleton County Library at 1 p.m. for author Marianne Walker and her book “The Graves County Boys: A Tale of Kentucky Basketball, Perseverance, and the Unlikely Championship of the Cuba Cubs.” She is a retired professor of English and philosophy at Henderson Community College and lives in Henderson, Ky.
2013 Horn Humanitarian Award Presentation will be held March 11 at 7:45 p.m. at Cynthiana Christian Church. The award recipient is Margaret Watson. The Harrison County Service Unit Board established the Clarence Horn Humanitarian Award to honor and preserve the vision Horn provided in serving the people of the community. Watson, will be recognized for her many contributions to the citizens of Harrison county. The evening dinner roast and award presentation is open to the public. A ticketed reception and dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. prior to the awards program. Dinner with the Doc. Tuesday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Harrison Memorial Hospital Executive dining room. A series developed by HMH to share health facts and answer questions about specific medical issues. Grief in a Song: Creative Expressions. Hospice of the Bluegrass will present a free two-session creative group to listen to and discuss coping songs about grief. The Write Club-A Writer’s Support Group. Every Monday at 6 p.m. the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will host a writer’s support group in the library annex.
