Heroes Unmasked-Trunk or Treat. Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. at Cynthiana Baptist Church. All children are invited. Children and their families will encounter costumed Bible Hero actors, play carnival games, do crafts, and collect Bible Hero cards to trade and treasure. The church is located at 212 E. Pleasant St., Cynthiana.
Licking Valley Singers Registration: A Special Celebration. First rehearsal is Jan. 16. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at MCTC/LVC. Concert dates are April 11 and April 13. There will be a $25 non-refundable participation fee. For more information contact Susan Dearborn.

FRIDAY, Nov. 1
The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Nov. 1 at Community Action K from 9:30-10:30 a.m.; Cynthiana Baptist Day Care, 10:45 a.m.; Eastside Laundry, 4 p.m.

Turkey Bingo. Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Cynthiana Elk’s Lodge. Doors open at 5 p.m., games will start at 6:30. Must be 18 or older to play bingo. All proceeds will benefit the Licking Valley Business Professional Women’s Club. Canned good donations will also be accepted for the Cynthiana-Harrison County Food Pantry.
Craft Marathon. Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office. Make holiday crafts that everyone can enjoy from young to old. There will be 10 crafts to choose from ranging in price from $1-2 per craft.
Berry Lions Club will host a Euchre party on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Lions clubhouse, Main Street, Berry. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. and euchre starts at 7.

A Benefit Concert for David Shadd will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 7 p.m. till midnight at Ronnie’s Bar & Grill on Walnut Street in Cynthiana. Music will be provided by The Goodtimers. Cover charge is $5. All proceeds go to cover medical expenses related to David’s recurrence of non-hodgkins lymphoma.

How A Bill Becomes A Law. This program will be presented by Sen. Walter Blevins Jr. of Kentucky’s District 27 on Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office. Refreshments will be served at 8:30 a.m. Hosted by the Harrison County Homemakers.
Champions For A Drug-Free Harrison County will meet Monday, Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month.
Veterans Day Crafternoon. Monday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. For ages 6 months to 11 years. Drop in for a quick, fun craft to celebrate veterans.

Community Action Council Election. An election will be held for selection of one Consumer Board member on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 12 p.m. at the Harrison County Center, 217 Old Lair., Cynthiana. Candidates must have received services from the Harrison County Center in the past 12 months and reside in Harrison County. Nominations will be accepted until the time of the election, but voting will be restricted to the members of the Harrison County Advisory Council. This is an open meeting and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.
DAR will meet Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Harrison County Health Center. Guest speaker will be Mr. Nahari with the ROTC. Anyone interested in joining the DAR call Jayne Newman at 859-907-3111.
Veterans Day Program. The annual Veterans Day Program will be held Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the veterans walk location in Battle Grove Cemetery. The Navy branch of service will be recognized.
Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, Nov. 12, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, Nov. 12, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.
Northside Council. The Northside Elementary Site Base Council will meet Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 3:45 p.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend.
Berry City Commission will meet Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m., at Berry City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.
Holiday Foods. Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office. Get in the mood for the holidays by tasting delicious food that one may want to serve the family. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased now through Nov. 11 at the Extension Office.
Planning Commission of Cynthiana, Harrison County, Berry will meet Monday, Nov. 18, 7:30 p.m., at the sheriff’s office. The meetings are open to the public.

Decorating for the Holidays. Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Harrison County Extension Center. Mike Reed, Powell County Ag Agent, will be the guest presenter. There is no charge for this program.
Harrison County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Nov. 26, 7 p.m., at the Community Education Building. The meetings are open to the public.

Winter Day Trip. Harrison County Extension Homemakers Winter Day Trip will be Dec. 7. The group will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office. The Homemakers will travel to the Kentucky Artisan Center, Berea, Ky., for artisan demonstrations, shopping and lunch. Then to the EKU Center for the Arts, Richmond, Ky., for a performance of The Nutcracker by the Lexington Ballet Company. Deadline to register is Nov. 9. Rotary Anniversary. Saturday, Nov. 23 the Cynthiana Rotary club will celebrate its 90th anniversary. The event will be held at the Extension Office and will be open to the public. Reservations are required. Contact any member for more information. The event will be a fundraiser for the Polio Eradication effort that is ongoing.

Relay for Life Quarter Auction. Nov. 23 at the Cynthiana Elks Lodge basement. Doors open at 10 a.m., auction begins at 10:30, $1 door charge, $1 per number paddle. Limited chance. Limited concessions will be available.

Toy, Coat, Canned Food Drive. Sponsored by Cash Express, 219 S. Walnut St., along with the Harrison County Fire Department, Harrison County Food Bank and Harrison County Community Action Angel Tree program. Accepting new and gently used toys, coats, shoes and non-perishable food items in many drop off locations. Donations need to be received by Dec. 12. Drop off locations are: Cash Express, Save-A-Lot, Papa Johns, World Finance, Rick’s Auto Repair, Something New Nail Salon, Finders Keepers, DG Schell Realty and many other locations.
