Downtown Artists Showcase. Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at Rohs Opera House. Calling all singers, songwriters, poets and artists to join at Rohs Opera House every month to showcase local talent. Class of 2003 Reunion. Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana Country Club for the 10 year reunion from 6-10 p.m. Tickets for the event are $15 per person or $25 per couple. Dedication of New Playground Equipment. Everyone is invited to observe the dedication of the new playground equipment at the Rev. Ross Park on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free hot dogs, chips, ice cream and drinks to be provided.

Planning Commission of Cynthiana, Harrison County, Berry will meet Monday, Sept. 16, 7:30 p.m., at the sheriff’s office. The meetings are open to the public.
Robertson County Historical Society will meet Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizens building in Mt. Olivet. Speakers will be Raymond and Karen Miller, relatives of the Miller and Overbey families of Robertson County. They have researched and located their ancestors who fought in the Battle of Blue Licks.

Harrison County Fire and Rescue will be hosting a portrait fundraiser. Anyone who participates with a $20 or more contribution will receive one free 8x10 family portrait. Will be contacted by a representative at individual residences. Thank you for your support, Harrison County Fire and Rescue.

Robertson County Farm Bureau Agriculture Fair. Friday, Sept 20.  All pageants are open and will follow the State Fair rules. Registration for the Little Miss and Mister contest will begin at 6 p.m. Pre Teen registration is from 6-7 p.m. Teen and Miss Pageant registration will be held at 7 p.m. They all must be a resident of Kentucky and have a birth certificate.
Harrison County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Sept. 24, 7 p.m., at the Community Education Building. The meetings are open to the public.
Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, Sept. 24, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, Sept. 24, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.
Farmers Market Fall Craft Fair. The Harrison County Farmers Marker will host a fall craft fair on Saturday, Sept 28 from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Vebdors can set up after 7:30 a.m. for a fee of $15 payable upon arrival and at which time they will be given their booth assignment. Electric is available and must bring own tent, tables, chairs and electrical cords. A local boy scout troop will provide concessions and will also help vendors unload vehicles and assist with parking. This event is also a fundraiser for the troop to gain some community hours. Kentucky Bank Sponsors Farm Tax Meeting. Kentucky Bank is helping the agricultural community understand both federal and state farm tax issues. A well-known expert on farm tax issues,  John Osborne, will be in at the Bourbon County Park in the Bland Building on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. to talk about the farm tax issues. He is a retired professor of accounting and has 58 years of experience with taxes. The event will be held on October 7th, beginning at 7:00 PM at the Bourbon County Park in the Bland Building. The public is welcome.
Northside Council. The Northside Elementary Site Base Council will meet Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 3:45 p.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend.
Harrison County Clothes Closet. A new drop box is now located in the back parking lot of Cynthiana Baptist Church, and is in need of coats (all sizes) and blankets. Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
