Battle of the Bluegrass Blood Drive. Friday, Sept. 6 from 2-7 p.m. on the KBC Bloodmobile at Cynthiana  Walmart, US 27 S. Donors will receive a Battle of the Bluegrass game day t-shirt and be entered to win a 2013 Toyota Prius.

SATURDAY, Sept. 7

Circuit Clerk’s Office Closed. The Circuit Clerk’s Office will be closed Saturday, Sept. 7 due to the Taste of Harrison County.

Ride for Jacob Family Fun Day. Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Airport. Registration begins at 10 a.m. for a scenic ride, $10 per bike, $5 for additional rider. A silent auction, bike rodeo events and bike show. Food and music will begin at 2 p.m., $5 for a plate lunch. Proceeds to help with medical expenses for Jacob Riddle.

MONDAY, Sept. 9

MCC/LVC Extension Beading Class. Want to learn to make your own Jewelry? Then call and register for the Beading class on Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. at Maysville Community College Licking Valley Campus Extension in Harrison Square. Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, Sept. 10, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.

Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, Sept. 10, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.

Class of 2003 Reunion. Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana Country Club for the 10 year reunion from 6-10 p.m. Tickets for the event are $15 per person or $25 per couple. Open House Tours. Sunday, Sept. 15 from 2-5 p.m. from Rob Lane, owner of the historic J. W. Lane Farm at 2144 Ratliff Rd. in Sharpsburg, Ky., will host an open house featuring tours of the restored old family home and remnants of a cabin estimated to have been built as early as 1790. Other antiques from Kentucky’s history will be on display. Refreshments will be served. There will be an admission fee for the house tour and tour of the old cabin.

Planning Commission of Cynthiana, Harrison County, Berry will meet Monday, Sept. 16, 7:30 p.m., at the sheriff’s office. The meetings are open to the public.

HCMS Council. Harrison County Middle School will have their monthly site base meeting Wednesday, Sept. 18 in the middle school library at 4:30 p.m.

Robertson County Farm Bureau Agriculture Fair. Friday, Sept 20.  All pageants are open and will follow the State Fair rules. Registration for the Little Miss and Mister contest will begin at 6 p.m. Pre Teen registration is from 6-7 p.m. Teen and Miss Pageant registration will be held at 7 p.m. They all must be a resident of Kentucky and have a birth certificate.

Harrison County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Sept. 24, 7 p.m., at the Community Education Building. The meetings are open to the public.

A Veterans Field Representative is available on the third Tuesday of each month at the County Sheriff’s office in Cynthiana from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This service is free of charge. Veterans and their dependents will receive assistance filing for Federal and State veterans benefits. Veterans need to furnish copies of pertinent documentation to verify eligibility. Harrison County Clothes Closet. A new drop box is now located in the back parking lot of Cynthiana Baptist Church, and is in need of coats (all sizes) and blankets. Young Farmers. The Harrison County Young Farmers will be meeting in the Harrison County High School ag room on Monday nights at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.

LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month. The meetings will be held at a different location for approximately 2 to 3 month.
