3rd Annual W.O.W. (Women of Worship) Conference will be held at Leesburg Christian Church, Saturday, Feb. 9, from noon until 2:30 pm. Special guest speakers from Celebrate Recovery Ministry Leader, Carrie Miller and Director of Development for Refuge for Women, Cindy Warr, music by Dwayne Gillespie of local group Sidewinders. SUNDAY, Feb. 10
Wear Red to Church will be observed on Feb. 10 at 8 a.m. at local churches in Harrison County. Churches in Harrison and surrounding counties are encouraged to take group pictures of members wearing red to promote heart disease awareness. Pictures may be delivered to the Harrison Memorial Hospital administration department or emailed to cmuntz@hmhosp.org. They will be displayed at the Go Red Celebration at 5 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Cynthiana Christian Church, which is open to the public.
MONDAY, Feb. 11
Free Computer Classes Now Available at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library: Monday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. “Computer Basics Level 3”; Monday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. “Introduction to Social Media”; Will be exploring Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and My Space. What are these sites and what can you do with them and what you should avoid. *Pre-registration is required*. The Broadband Technology Opportunity Program Grant (BTOP) will give the people of Harrison County the opportunity to be introduced to computer skills. These skills will assist the people in preparing for and researching for employment.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Monday, Feb. 11 at Community Action Childcare Center & Harrison County Adult Care Center from 10:30 a.m.-Noon; Hinton, 3 p.m.
Champions For A Drug-Free Harrison County will meet Monday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month.
Community Action Council will hold an election for selection of a Consumer Board member on Monday, Feb. 11 at noon at the Harrison County Center, 216 Old Lair Rd., Cynthiana. Candidates must have received services from the Harrison County Center in the last 12 months and reside in Harrison County. Anyone may nominate and nominations will be accepted until the time of the election, but voting will be restricted to the members of the Harrison County Advisory Council. This is an open meeting and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, Feb. 12, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, Feb.12, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.
A Taste of Mardi Gras. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Adults’ program in the annex. Come enjoy the sites, sounds, and tastes of the greatest Southern party. New Orleans Cuisine, take home a Mardi Gras mask, jazz music, view famous sites of New Orleans, learn the history and lore of Mardi Gras, and door prizes.
A Taste of Mardi Gras. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Kids in grades 2nd through 6th are invited to the children’s library to have Mardi Gras snacks, listen to music, and to make Mardi Gras inspired crafts.

Northside Council. Northside Elementary Site Based Council will meet Thursday, Feb. 14 at 3:45 p.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend.
Teen Time at the Annex. Friday, Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. This program is for teens ages 13 to 18 only. Will be watching the movie “The Hunger Games” and deciding what to do for the next Teen Time. Free Movie, free snacks, fun.

Memory Heart Group. Remember a loved one by making a heart pillow out of an article of their clothing on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hospice of the Bluegrass. Harrison County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Feb. 26, 7 p.m., at the Community Education Building. The meetings are open to the public.
Library Dual Exhibit. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library is hosting a dual exhibit. One side of the foyer showcases the entries and highlights the winners of the Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry and Art Contest. The other side of the foyer celebrates Black History month.
Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation will award 87 county and state college scholarships to high school seniors pursuing a four-year course of study, including three $1,000 scholarships sponsored by Harrison County Farm Bureau Federation. Applicants must be a child of a Kentucky Farm Bureau member. Harrison County Clothes Closet. A new drop box is now located in the back parking lot of Cynthiana Baptist Church, and is in need of coats (all sizes) and blankets. Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet is now open on the last Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.

LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month at Biancke’s Restaurant at noon, with a guest speaker. Interested and new members are welcome.
