Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 and will reopen on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 9 a.m.

SATURDAY, Dec. 8
Basket Auction and Soup Dinner will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 at Eastside Elementary School, US Hwy. 62 E., Cynthiana. Dinner will start at 5:30 p.m. and will be served throughout the evening for a Love donation. Basket Auction will start at 7 p.m., and consist of several theme baskets, Country hams, Kentucky, Louisville and Tennessee items, and several other Items. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Monday, Dec. 10 at Lebus Childcare Center at 11 a.m.; Claysville, 11:30 a.m.; Leesburg, 2:30 p.m.; Grays Run, 3:15 p.m.
BTOP Computer Class: “Let’s Explore Power Point” Monday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. This class will serve as an introduction to Powerpoint for participants. Please pre-register.
TUESDAY, Dec. 11
Visit From the North Pole. Tuesday, Dec. 11 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. For the Young and the Young at Heart. While waiting to see Santa we will hear special stories, make crafts and have snacks. Will also be making pictures with Santa. Program will take place in the children’s library. Please pre-register.

Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, Dec. 11, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Bailey Bunch will meet Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Paul’s Family Restaurant (formerly Family Fare). Money donations will be taken for the food pantry.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, Dec. 11, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.
WEDNESDAY, Dec. 12
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Northside Elementary from 9:30 a.m.-Noon; Kids Club, 3:45-4:30 p.m.
Robertson County Historical Society will hold their annual Christmas meeting on Monday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Senior Citizen’s building in Mt. Olivet. Bring a covered dish. Election of new officers will also be held. Everyone welcome.
Licking Valley Singers -- Harrison County’s Community Choir is recruiting new members for its Spring 2013 Session. The Licking Valley Singers is an “all comers” non-auditioned community choir open to anyone. The choir meets Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 at the Licking Valley Campus of the Maysville Community and Technical College in Cynthiana. The spring session begins Thursday, Jan. 17 and continues for 12 weeks. Non-refundable participation fee of $25. Registration deadline for the Spring 2013 session is Friday, Dec. 21. Harrison County Clothes Closet. A new drop box is now located in the back parking lot of Cynthiana Baptist Church, and is in need of coats (all sizes) and blankets. Toy and Coat Drive. The annual Toy and Coat Drive for the children will be running through Dec. 15. All donations should be received by Dec. 15 in order to have them delivered in time for Christmas. Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
