THURSDAY, Nov. 29
Historical/Women’s Book Groups. Thursday, Nov. 29 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library for a holiday potluck.  Will also be discussing the books read this year both as a group and as individuals and will be making next year’s book group selections.
FRIDAY, Nov. 30
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Nov. 30 at Community Action from 9:30-10:30 a.m.; Cynthiana Baptist Daycare, 10:45 a.m.; Eastside Laundry, 3  p.m.; Grand Haven, 3-4 p.m.
SATURDAY, Dec. 1
Kiwanis Christmas Tree Lighting to honor veterans on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. at Battle Grove Cemetary. Refreshments will be served.
Christmas Bazaar. Living Hope will be hosting their Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9a.m. to 5 p.m. at 120 S. Walnut St., next to the Museum, with over 20 vendors and a Silent Auction. Proceeds to benefit the local food bank. There will be concessions, free coffee and hot chocolate and door prizes. For information call 859-235-4673 or 588-8278.
Christmas Variety Show. The Cynthiana Kiwanis Club will be sponsoring the Christmas Variety Show on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Harrison County High School auditorium. Guest appearance by Santa Claus. For advance tickets call 859-234-8450, at the door or online at mstickets@att.net. Adults and children $7.50, five and under are admitted free. Proceeds will be used to give gifts to the less fortunate in Harrison County and the Holiday Community Projects.
SUNDAY, Dec. 2
Tour of Historic Homes in Georgetown. Tour of Historic Homes fall fundraiser for Scott County Arts Consortium will be held Sunday, Dec. 2 from 1-5 p.m. Four homes are open for the holiday tour. Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased at the Arts and Cultural Center, 117 N. Water St., Georgetown. Call 502-570-8366 for information.
MONDAY, Dec. 3
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Monday, Dec. 3 at Community Action Childcare Center & Harrison County Adult Care Center from 10:30 a.m. -Noon; Hinton, 3-4 p.m.
Harrison County Tea Party will meet Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Faith Fellowship Hall, US 27 S, just past the Ky. Hwy. 62 W turn off to Georgetown. Board of Directors will conduct a planning meeting at 6 p.m. Will discuss results of the recent national and local elections and future goals. Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Eastside Elementary from 9:30 a.m.- Noon; Berry, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Home Assistance. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Home Assistance, Inc. will be taking applications for qualifying families. If you are interested in becoming a homeowner call 859-588-7620 after 4:30 p.m. for information.
Harrison County Clothes Closet. A new drop box is now located in the back parking lot of Cynthiana Baptist Church, and is in need of coats (all sizes) and blankets. Toy and Coat Drive. The annual Toy and Coat Drive for the children will be running through Dec. 15. All donations should be received by Dec. 15 in order to have them delivered in time for Christmas. Gallery and Gifts Holiday Market. The Scott County Arts Consortium’s annual Gallery and Gifts Holiday Market is open now through Dec. 20 at the Arts and Cultural Center, 117 N. Water St., Georgetown. Crafts and Carols Dual Program. (Two Sessions) Thursday, Dec. 6 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library for third-eighth graders in the Children’s Room and for ninth graders through adult in the Library Annex. Please pre-register.
Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 and will reopen on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 9 a.m.
Basket Auction and Soup Dinner will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 at Eastside Elementary School, US Hwy. 62 E., Cynthiana. Dinner will start at 5:30 p.m. and will be served throughout the evening for a Love donation. Basket Auction will start at 7 p.m., and consist of several theme baskets, Country hams, Kentucky, Louisville and Tennessee items, and several other Items. Everyone is welcome to attend.

BTOP Computer Class: “Let’s Explore Power Point” Monday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. This class will serve as an introduction to Powerpoint for participants. Please pre-register.
Visit From the North Pole. Tuesday, Dec. 11 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. For the Young and the Young at Heart. While waiting to see Santa we will hear special stories, make crafts and have snacks. Will also be making pictures with Santa. Program will take place in the children’s library. Please pre-register.

Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, Dec. 11, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Bailey Bunch will meet Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Paul’s Family Restaurant (formerly Family Fare). Money donations will be taken for the food pantry.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, Dec. 11, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.
