SATURDAY, Nov. 24
Pancake Breakfast. Saturday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Edward School cafeteria. This is a fundraiser for eighth graders and St. Edward Alumnus Alan Cabrera, who was nominated to participate in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Foundation’s People to People program as a Student Ambassador to Austria, Switzerland, France, and Italy next summer. Everyone welcome.
Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will  reopen on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 9 a.m. in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
MONDAY, Nov. 26
Decorating for the Holidays. Monday, Nov. 26, 7 p.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office. No cost. Call 234-5510 to reserve seat. Refreshments served.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Monday, Nov. 26 at Lebus Childcare Center at 10:30 a.m.; Parkside, 11 a.m.; Grays Run, 2:30-4 p.m.
TUESDAY, Nov. 27
Holiday Cheer Camp. HCHS cheerleaders will hold a cheer camp Dec. 1 for grades K-5 at Westside Elementary from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pre-registration needed by Nov. 27 to guarantee participants a t-shirt. Cost of camp is $30. All participants will cheer at the Harrison County Boys basketball game on Dec. 4. Home Assistance. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Home Assistance, Inc. will be taking applications for qualifying families. If you are interested in becoming a homeowner call 859-588-7620 after 4:30 p.m. for information.
Harrison County Clothes Closet. A new drop box is now located in the back parking lot of Cynthiana Baptist Church, and is in need of coats (all sizes) and blankets. Historical/Women’s Book Groups. Thursday, Nov. 29 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library for a holiday potluck.  Will also be discussing the books read this year both as a group and as individuals and will be making next year’s book group selections.
Toy and Coat Drive. The annual Toy and Coat Drive for the children will be running through Dec. 15. All donations should be received by Dec. 15 in order to have them delivered in time for Christmas. Accepting new and used toys, coats, shoes (washable) and non perishable food items in many drop off locations in the area. Sponsored by Cash Express.

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Nov. 30 at Community Action from 9:30-10:30 a.m.; Cynthiana Baptist Daycare, 10:45 a.m.; Eastside Laundry, 3  p.m.; Grand Haven, 3-4 p.m.
Crafts and Carols Dual Program. (Two Sessions) Thursday, Dec. 6 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library for third-eighth graders in the Children’s Room and for ninth graders through adult in the Library Annex. Please pre-register.
Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 and will reopen on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 9 a.m.

Basket Auction and Soup Dinner will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 at Eastside Elementary School, US Hwy. 62 E., Cynthiana. Dinner will start at 5:30 p.m. and will be served throughout the evening for a Love donation. Basket Auction will start at 7 p.m., and consist of several theme baskets, Country hams, Kentucky, Louisville and Tennessee items, and several other Items. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Hymn Sing. Berry Methodist Church will hold a Hymn Sing on the fourth Sunday of each month beginning at 6 p.m.
Boy Scout Troop 76 meets every Tuesday from 5:45-7:15 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, just past Eastside Elementary School. Drive to the back of the building; the meeting is in the lower meeting room. Must be 11 years old or at least in the fifth grade. For more information contact Tim Lail, 588-9370.
Children’s Story Time. Every Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Come listen to fun stories and do crafts. For ages birth to 5.
Weight Watchers meets every Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. at Hospice of the Bluegrass. Registration and weigh-in begins at 5:15 p.m.
Young Farmers. The Harrison County Young Farmers will be meeting in the Harrison County High School ag room on Monday nights at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.
Library Display Foyer. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library is hosting a display of armed forces memorabilia. Also needing people to share talent/collections with the community. The library extends an invitation for foyer display ideas at the public library. Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet is now ready with summer clothing and will now be open on the last Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Christian Faith Center. The Christian Faith Center has opened their clothing closet to the public. All free items. Call 859-234-8481 to view items.
LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month at Biancke’s Restaurant at noon, with a guest speaker. Interested and new members are welcome.
Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets the second and fourth Thursdays of every month from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at Indian Creek Christian Church. Come join other moms for food, fun and fellowship. Cynthiana-Harrison County Parks and Recreation Committee meets weekly on Mondays at 5 p.m. at the Battle Grove Cemetery office. These meetings are open to the public.
