Cynthiana Fire Department Relay for Life Cookout. The Cynthiana Fire Department will host a cookout this Friday at the fire station by City Hall on Pleasant Street. A chicken breast sandwiches is $3, a hamburger is $2.50, a hot dog is $1.50, a bag of chips is 50 cents and a soft drink is $1. The fire department will deliver orders of five or more in town only. They are requesting that large orders be called in ahead of time at 234-7102. Proceeds benefit Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

Library Cookbook. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library is preparing a cookbook featuring favorite recipes from members of the community. Names will be printed with each recipe submitted. Car Cruise-In and Cornhole Tournament. The United Community of Cynthiana and Harrison County will host a car cruise-in and cornhole tournament on Saturday, May 22 in downtown Cynthiana. The cruise-in will be from 3-5 p.m., with the cornhole tournament beginning at 5 p.m. There is no entry fee for the cruise-in. Streetrods, musclecars, classics and antique cars are welcomed. The cornhole tournament entry fee is $10 per person, with a blind draw, double elimination and pay out for first and second place. For early registration, call Lonnie Tolson at (859)221-3169. There will also be door prizes, 50/50 drawings, food and beverages and live entertainment featuring the Blue Collar Rebel Band. 4-H Camp. The Harrison County 4-H Camp is scheduled for Tuesday-Friday, June 29-July 2 at North Central 4-H Camp in Nicholas County. Battle Grove Cemetery Clean Up. Due to the cold temperatures and snow drifts, etc., cemetery guidelines for removal of Christmas wreaths (removed by the end of January) were unable to be followed. Now that it's March and time for spring clean up prior to mowing season, anyone having articles that wish to be kept should remove them by the end of March. The clean up will be observed April 5-9. Please watch for and remove all pieces of wire.
