Women’s Group. The women’s group will be reading Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg. The group will meet Thursday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Annex. Refreshments will be served the night of discussion.
FRIDAY, Sept. 28
Bean Soup Supper will be held Friday, Sept. 28 from 5-9 p.m. at Cynthiana Christian Church. Cost of the meal will be $6 and includes bean soup, country ham and a drink.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Sept. 28 at Cynthiana Baptist Daycare at 10:30 a.m.; Eastside Laundry, 3 p.m.; Grand Haven, 3:20 p.m.

Painting Exhibit. Freda Platt Walters, a 1959 graduate of Cynthiana High School, will be exhibiting her water colors and oil paintings at the Vault, 201 S. Main St., during the month of October. She will be at the Vault on Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Creative Writing Workshop. Thursday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. for grades 7 to 12 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Come and learn how to create through destruction. Pizza will be served. Pre-register so that enough pizza can be ordered.
Country Festival and Back Forty Nature Walk. Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Reed Valley Orchard, Paris, Ky. Entertainment all day, petting zoo and sheep shearing demo by the Bourbon County FFA, wagon rides, craft booths, food booths and more. Admission is free.

Take Charge of Your Health. Come and discuss health topics at HIM (Healthy Informed Men) Seminar on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 8:30-10 a.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office. Spooky Boo-Wow Howl-o-ween Parade will be held Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds go to the Human Society of Harrison County.

Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet is now ready with summer clothing and will now be open on the last Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.

Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
