Youth Bookstore. Friday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Bring in completed summer reading log, pick up a new one, grab a free book (up to six per child for the summer) and enter to win summer reading prize drawings.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, July 13 at Cynthiana Baptist Daycare at 10:30 a.m.; River Road, Noon; Berry Reading Program at Berry City Hall, 2:30 p.m.
SATURDAY, July 14
Freedom Isn’t Free Biker Day. Praising and honoring those who serve and those who ride on July 14 from 1-4 p.m. at Rotary Park in Maysville, Ky. The Circuit Riders of CMA Northern Kentucky Chapter will be the special guest. Service includes: Honoring of Veterans, Blessing of the Bikes, Bike Show, Bicycle Contest and Prayer Ride to AM VET Park in Maysville.
Kentucky Strongest Man Competition will be held at Leono’s parking lot on Saturday, July 14. The all day event will sport some of Kentuck’s strongest men competing in events including car deadlift, tire-flip medley and Atlas Stones. Admission is free. Come join in watching several wieght classes battle it out for a chance to move onto the national competition. Kentucky’s Strongest Man is sanctioned by the North American Strongman.

Planning Commission of Cynthiana, Harrison County, Berry will meet Monday, July 16, 7:30 p.m., at the sheriff’s office. The meetings are open to the public.
Robertson County Historical Society will meet Monday, July 16 at 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizen’s Building in Mt. Olivet. There will be a guest speaker.

Creatures of the Night Teen Zombie Party. Wednesday, July 18 at 1:30 p.m. Stephen Hollen will be present to tell stories about creatures of the night, zombies, vampires, Frankenstein and ghosts. Spouse Loss Support Group. A four-week support group that offers support for those who have experienced the loss of a spouse or significant other on Thursdays, July 19, 26, Aug. 2, and 9 at 6 p.m. at the Bourbon County Health Department. Sponsored by Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Basic Survival Class. Survivors Skills class offered Thursday, July 19 at 6 p.m. at the Paris-Bourbon County Library. Craig Caudill, instructor with Nature Reliance School, Clark County, will share his experience in teaching survival skills. This event will focus on various survival methods, strategies and techniques and is free and open to the public and suitable for most ages. Youth under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter July Cat Special. The Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter will be offering adoption of kittens and cats for $25 during the month of July. This special price will include free vet exam, rabies shot and spay/neuter. Summer Food Service Program. The Harrison County Board of Education is participating in the Summer Food Service Program with meals provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the River Road Park through July 27 from noon to 12:30 p.m.
Band Alumni Reunion. The fourth annual Harrison County Band Alumni reunion will be held Saturday, July 28 from 2:30-5 p.m. at the Rohs Opera House. All former and current members welcome. Will be playing marching band shows from four decades past on the big screen. Silent auction to benefit the Robert E. Gregg Scholarship Fund.
