THURSDAY, June 28

FRIDAY, June 29
Youth Book Store will be open Friday, June 29 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Bring in your completed summer reading log, pick up a new one, grab a free book (up to six per child for the summer), and enter to win summer reading prize drawings.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, June 29 at Our Little Miracles at 11:30 a.m.; Reading Program at Ebenezer Church, 2 p.m.
SATURDAY, June 30
Blueberry Jubilee/Pancake Day. Saturday, June 30 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Reed Valley Orchard, Paris, Ky. Flemingsburg/Fleming County Rec Park Celebration at the F.F.C. Rec Park on Saturday, June 30 beginning with the 5K run at 8 a.m. with registration at 7 at the Dairy Queen. Entry fee is $15. Free drinks for all registrants. Everthing else takes place at the park. Firecracker baby show, dinners, sandwiches, country music, Backyard Carnival, antique, classic car and truck show, Corn Hole tournament, free swimming, and a firework show.

HCEF College Loans. The Harrison County Educational Foundation is accepting applications for college loans for the 2012-2013 school year. Applications may be picked up at Harrison County High School, at Maysville Community College or by emailing harrisoncoedfound@hotmail.com. Completed applications must be submitted to PO Box 243, Cynthiana, KY by July 1, 2012.
WEDNESDAY, July 4
Library Holiday Closing. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 in observation of Independence Day. The library will reopen at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 5.

Fair Community Gospel Sing. Freedom Isn’t Free Biker Day. Praising and honoring those who serve and those who ride on July 14 from 1-4 p.m. at Rotary Park in Maysville, Ky. The Circuit Riders of CMA Northern Kentucky Chapter will be the special guest. Service includes: Honoring of Veterans, Blessing of the Bikes, Bike Show, Bicycle Contest and Prayer Ride to AM VET Park in Maysville.

WEDCO District Board of Health will hold their quarterly board meeting on Monday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Wedco District office, 302 Oddville Ave., Cynthiana.
Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter July Special. The Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter will be offering adoption of kittens and cats for $25 during the month of July. This special price will include their first vet exam, rabies shot and spay/neuter. Call the shelter at 234-7138. Summer Food Service Program. The Harrison County Board of Education is participating in the Summer Food Service Program with meals provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the River Road Park through July 27 from noon to 12:30 p.m. No meal service will be provided on July 4.
Hymn Sing. Berry Methodist Church will hold a Hymn Sing on the fourth Sunday of each month beginning at 6 p.m.

Children’s Pajamarama Story Time. Every Tuesday at 10 a.m. and again at 4:30 p.m. throughout the summer at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Listen to “Night” themed stories and do fun, dream worthy crafts. For ages birth to 7. Wearing pajamas is accepted but not required.

Weight Watchers will meet each Tuesday evening at Hospice of the Bluegrass. Weigh-in at 5:15 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 5:45 p.m.
Young Farmers. The Harrison County Young Farmers will be meeting in the Harrison County High School ag room on Monday nights at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.
Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet is now ready with summer clothing and will now be open on the last Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Christian Faith Center. The Christian Faith Center has opened their clothing closet to the public. All free items. Call 859-234-8481 to view items.
Children’s Story Time. Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for age 3 to 5; and at 4:30 p.m. for age birth to 5 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.

On Display. Starting in June visit the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library’s front foyer to see all the prizes that can be earned just by reading books this summer.
LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month at Biancke’s Restaurant at noon, with a guest speaker. Interested and new members are welcome.
Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets the second and fourth Thursdays of every month from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at Indian Creek Christian Church. Come join other moms for food, fun and fellowship. Cynthiana-Harrison County Parks and Recreation Committee meets weekly on Mondays at 5 p.m. at the Battle Grove Cemetery office. These meetings are open to the public.

Harrison County Veterans are eligible for interment in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Ky. Spouses and other eligible dependents may qualify for interment as well. Harrison County Republican Party meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Sheriff’s office, Pike Street.
