THURSDAY, June 14
Books and BBQ. Thursday, June 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Come learn how to make a delicious BBQ sauce and learn what the different ingredients can do. Dads and their children are especially encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is required.
Berry City Commission will meet Thursday, June 14 at 7 p.m., at Berry City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.
HCHS Cheerleader Yard Sale. The Harrison County High School cheerleaders will sponsor a yard sale on June 14 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Southside Elementary School, rain or shine. Twenty families with lots of name brand clothes. Proceeds to benefit the HCHS cheerleaders.

Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, June 15 at Kids Club Reading Program at 10:30 a.m.; Eastside Laundry, 11:30 a.m.

Youth Summer Reading Kick-Off. Saturday, June 16 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.  Families welcome.

Planning Commission of Cynthiana, Harrison County, Berry will meet Monday, June 18, 7:30 p.m., at the sheriff’s office. The meetings are open to the public.
BTOP Free Computer Class: Computer Basics Level One, Monday, June 18 at 6 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Pre-registration is required.
Robertson County Historical Society will hold their annual picnic on June 18 at 6 p.m. at Blue Licks State Resort Park in the shelter above the swimming pool. Bring a covered dish. The Society will furnish the meats. Everyone is invited to attend.

WEDNESDAY, June 20
Number the Stars Starry Night Craft. Wednesday, June 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Come learn about Van Gogh’s Starry Night, help create a Starry Night Mural for the library and create your own masterpiece. For ages 4 to 12.

SPECIAL NOTICES
Summer Food Service Program. The Harrison County Board of Education is participating in the Summer Food Service Program with meals provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the River Road Park through July 27, 2012, from noon to 12:30 p.m. No meal service will be provided on July 4.
Shakers and the Civil War. Thursday, June 21 at 7 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Presented by Susan Hughes from Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. This is a joint presentation of the public library and the Harrison County Historical Society.
HCHS Marching Band Fundraiser. The event will take place Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the old  HA Jones parking lot, Cynthiana. Yard sale, crafts, vendors are welcome. Call 859-298-4796 for a spot. Cost is $25.
Post-it® Note Fashion Show and Contest. Entries are needed for the The Post-it® Note Fashion Show and Contest. Deadline to enter is June 22. All designs will be modeled at the contest fashion show, Friday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m. on the stage of the Rohs Opera House. Registration is $5 per team member. HCEF College Loans. The Harrison County Educational Foundation is accepting applications for college loans for the 2012-2013 school year. Applications may be picked up at Harrison County High School, at Maysville Community College or by emailing harrisoncoedfound@hotmail.com. Fair Community Gospel Sing. The Harrison County Fairboard is sponsoring the Community Gospel Sing at the fairgrounds on July 8 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in participating should contact Barbara Yearsley, 1146 Ky. Weight Watchers will meet each Tuesday evening at Hospice of the Bluegrass. Weigh-in at 5:15 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 5:45 p.m.

Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet is now ready with summer clothing and will now be open on the last Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.

LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women's meets the second Wednesday of each month at Biancke's Restaurant at noon, with a guest speaker. Interested and new members are welcome.
Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
