THURSDAY, Feb. 9
Movie and Craft. Thursday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. for kids of all ages.
Valentine Craft Session. Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m. for adults. Will be making a heart ornament, your choice of two bookmarks and pizza cookies. Spots are limited so sign up ASAP.
Northside Council. The Northside Site Based Council will meet Thursday, Feb. 9 at 3:45 p.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend.
Cynthiana Board of Adjustment will not meet this month due to no items on the agenda.

FRIDAY, Feb. 10
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Feb. 10 at Beacon House at 10:30 a.m.; New Beginnings, 11 a.m.; Our Little Miracles,  Noon; Robynwood, 3-4 p.m.
Blood Drive. Friday, Feb. 10 from 2:30-6:30 p.m. on the KBC Bloodmobile at Walmart, US 27 S.
Chili Supper. A chili supper will be available Friday, Feb. 10 from 5-8 p.m. in the Harrison County High School cafeteria. To go containers are also available. Cost is $5 for chili, pimento cheese sandwich, drink and desert. Proceeds to benefit the 2012 Project Graduation program.

SATURDAY, Feb. 11
DAR. Cynthiana Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Community Room.

HMH Go Red Event. The Harrison Memorial Hospital Go Red Events: Feb. 12, wear Red to church; Feb. 27, Go Red Reception, 5-6:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana Christian Church.

MONDAY, Feb. 13
Teen Valentine’s Day Program. Monday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.
HCMS Council. The Harrison County Middle School Site Base Council will meet Monday, Feb. 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the school library. The public is welcome to attend.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Feb. 13 in Claysville at 11 a.m.; Grays Run, 2:30-4 p.m.
Champion For A Drug-Free Harrison County will meet Monday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month and are open to the public.
Harrison County Extension District Board meeting will be held Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office.
Fiscal Court. A special meeting of the Harrison County Fiscal Court will be held Monday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.  All meetings are open to the public.

TUESDAY, Feb. 14
HCHS Council. The Harrison County High School Site Base Council will now meet on the second Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. in the high school library.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Feb. 14 at Toddler Village at 10:30 a.m.; Terrace Park, 11 a.m.; Cedar Ridge, 3-4 p.m.
Southside Elementary Council. The Harrison County Southside Elementary Site Base Council will meet Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 4:30 p.m. in the school library. The public is welcome to attend.

SPECIAL NOTICES
School District Report Card. All required elements of the Harrison County School District Report Card have been published by the Kentucky Department of Education on its website and can be viewed at http://applications.education.ky.gov/schoolreportcardarchive/. A hard copy is also available at the Harrison County Board of Education Building located at 308 Webster Ave., Cynthiana, Ky. (Publishing Requirements: Notwithstanding KRS 158.6453(7), 160.463, and 424.220).
Harrison County Historical Society will meet Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Annex. There will be a video program narrated by Bill Penn about the second Civil War Battle of Cynthiana that took place June 11 and 12, 1864. The public is always welcome.
Harrison County Health Department will be closed on Feb. 17 for training.
Rotary Bean Soup Luncheon. The Cynthiana Rotary Club’s Bean Soup and Cornbread Luncheon will be Friday, Feb. 24 at  Cynthiana Presbyterian Church from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Club will accept to go orders and welcomes others to eat with us at the church. Rotarians will have tickets for sale at $6 each and the proceeds benefit Rotary charitable events. Businesses wishing to place to go orders should provide this information to any Rotarian.

Young Farmers. The Harrison County Young Farmers will be meeting in the Harrison County High School ag room on Monday nights at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in becoming a member is welcome to attend.
Christian Faith Center. The Christian Faith Center has opened their clothing closet to the public. All free items, lots of winterwear. Call 859-234-8481 to view items.
Prevent A Litter Month. Take advantage of the 10 percent spay/neuter discount coupons being honored at Brooks Animal Clinic and the Harrison Vet Clinic during January. Stop the needless suffering of innocent dogs, cats, puppies and kittens who should never have been born. Coupons are available at the shelter, courthouse, WCYN radio station and bulletin boards throughout the county. Sponsored by the Humane Society of Harrison County.
Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet boxes for donations have been moved to the Food Lion parking lot. Clothes are still needed. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and is open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Children’s Story Time. Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for age 3 to 5; and at 4:30 p.m. for age birth to 5 at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.
Free Computer Classes. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library is providing free computer classes. Call 234-4881 to find out about class offerings or visit the website at www.cynthianalibrary.org.
On Display. During the month of January the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library is hosting two different displays in the front foyer. As you enter the library the left side features a portion of the snowman collection of Tracye Young while the right side features a display honoring African Americans created by Terry Harris. Coming up in February will be a display honoring the contributions of African Americans of Cynthiana.
LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month at Biancke’s Restaurant at noon, with a guest speaker. Interested and new members are welcome.
Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets the second and fourth Thursdays of every month from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at Indian Creek Christian Church. Come join other moms for food, fun and fellowship. Harrison County Veterans are eligible for interment in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Ky. Spouses and other eligible dependents may qualify for interment as well.
