THURSDAY, Dec. 22
Historical Book Group. Thursday, Dec. 22 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the book Boone by Robert Morgan. Refreshments will be served the night of discussion.
FRIDAY, Dec. 23
Library Closing. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will be closed Dec. 23-26. The library will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 9 a.m.
Extension Office Closing. The Harrison County Extension Office will be following the holiday schedule of the University of Kentucky. The office will close on Friday, Dec. 23 and reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012. During that time we will be doing maintenance to the building. If you are in need of equipment call and leave a message at 234-5510 and we will check from time to time.
MONDAY, Dec. 26
Health Department Closings. The Harrison County Health Department will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Dec. 27 for the Christmas holiday, and Jan. 2 and 3 for the New Year holiday.
TUESDAY, Dec. 27
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Tuesday, Dec. 27 at Toddler Village at 10:30 a.m.; Terrace Park, 11 a.m.; Cedar Ridge, 2:30 p.m.
Cynthiana City Commission will meet Tuesday, Dec. 27, 5:30 p.m., upstairs City Hall in the commissioners’ room. The meetings are open to the public.
Fiscal Court of Harrison County will meet Tuesday, Dec. 27, 5:30 p.m., meeting room at the Harrison County Sheriff’s building (former KU building). The meetings are open to the public.
Harrison County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Dec. 27, 7 p.m., at the Community Education Building. The meetings are open to the public.
WEDNESDAY, Dec. 28
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Wednesday, Dec. 28 in Berry at 3:30 p.m.
SPECIAL NOTICES
Food Drive. Through the end of the year Kentucky Bank is collecting nonperishable food items for the Cynthiana Food Pantry.  Food can be dropped off Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday till 5 p.m. and 9 to 12 on Saturday.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Dec. 30 at Our Little Miracles at 11:30 a.m.; Robynwood Heights, 2:30 p.m.
Public Library Closing. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will be closed Dec. 31 and will reopen on Monday, Jan. 2 at 9 a.m.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Wednesday, Jan. 4 at Eastside Elementary School from 9:30 a.m.-noon; Kids Club, 3:45-4:30 p.m.
Women’s Book Group. Thursday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. will meet to discuss the book The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Refreshments will be served the night of discussion.
Northside Council. The Northside Elementary Site Based Council will meet Thursday, Jan. 12 at 3:45 p.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend.
Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet boxes for donations have been moved to the Food Lion parking lot. Clothes are still needed. The Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and is open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Children’s Story Time. Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and at 4:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.
Free Computer Classes. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library is providing free computer classes. Call 234-4881 to find out about class offerings or visit the website at www.cynthianalibrary.org.
LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month at Biancke’s Restaurant at noon, with a guest speaker. Interested and new members are welcome.
Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
