THURSDAY, Nov. 17
Harrison County Historical Society will meet Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Annex. Billy and Sharon Fowler will present a program about the ca 1830’s Handy Farm barn. The public is always welcome.
FRIDAY, Nov. 18
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Nov. 18 at  New Beginnings at 10:30 a.m.; Our Little Miracles, 11 a.m.; Robynwood Heights, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
2011 Holiday Workshops. Memory Candle Workshop - Friday, Nov. 18 from 2-3:30 p.m. Flameless candles will be made to honor the deceased with a ritual of remembrance; Topiary Tree Workshop - Friday, Dec. 2 from 2-3:30 p.m. Small topiary trees will be made and decorated with swags of lettered beads spelling the name of the deceased; Holiday Fragrance Workshop - Friday, Dec. 9 from 3:30-5 p.m. Fragrant lemons will be decorated with the initials of the deceased love one. SATURDAY, Nov. 19
HCHS Art Club. The Harrison County High School Art Club will be having a craft/yard sale on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 8 a.m. to 9p.m. in the HCHS cafeteria.
AARP Safe Driver Course. Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for drivers 50 years of age or more at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. The fee for AARP members will be $12, non-members $14, and during the month of November veterans and their spouses can take the course for free.
Soup Dinner and Basket Auction. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Cynthiana/Harrison County National Guard Armory located on Old Lair Road. Dinner will start at 5 p.m. consisting of various soups, sandwich, drink and desert and a love offering will be taken. Basket auction will begin at 6 p.m. along with craft Christmas ornaments and the Feeding The Flock Cookbook will also be for sale. Everyone welcome to attend. Hosted by the Berry United Methodist Church.
Pendleton County Extension Homemakers Winter Wonderland. Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. at Southern Elementary School off US 27, Falmouth, Ky. Sponsored by the Pendleton County Extension Homemakers for the benefit of the Pendleton County Extension Homemakers Scholarship fund for Pendleton County High School seniors. Admission is free. Up to 75 vendors. Santa will be there from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your own camera to take pictures with Santa. Lunch by the Homemakers available to purchase. For more information call 859-654-3395.

HCMS Council. The Harrison County Middle School Site-Based Decision Making Council will meet Monday, Nov. 21 at 4:30 p.m. in the school library. The public is welcome to attend.

WEDNESDAY, Nov. 23
Library Holiday Closing. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library will close on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 5 p.m. and reopen on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 9 a.m. in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Harrison County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Nov. 23, 7 p.m., at the Community Education Building. The meetings are open to the public.
SPECIAL NOTICES
Free Thanksgiving Meal will be served at the Harrison County High School cafeteria on Thanksgiving Day. The meal is free but please call 588-3712 and let us know you are coming. There will be Christmas crafts for the kids. Transportation can be provided. If unable to join us at the high school and would still like a meal, delivery will be available. Call the same number for deliver. Presented by Unity Christian Church.

Holiday Home Tour. St. Mary School PTS to host a holiday tour of homes on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 2-5 p.m. Six properties will be showcased. Starting location will be at St. Mary School, 1121 Main St., Paris. Tickets are $10 each day of tour or Nov. 19 during the craft fair at the Church of Annunciation Parish Hall. Millersburg Christmas Parade. Monday, Dec. 5 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Parade line will begin at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Vimont Lane and Old Millersburg Road. Public may greet the honorees at a reception in the Millersburg Civic Center following the parade with refreshments being served and a chili supper prepared by the Millersburg Fire Department. Crafting and Carols. Thursday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. There will be a variety of crafts available to make as we listen to the sounds of the season. This is a craft session for adult patrons. Pre-registration is required.

LVBPW Meeting. The Licking Valley Business and Professional Women’s meets the second Wednesday of each month at Biancke’s Restaurant at noon, with a guest speaker. Interested and new members are welcome.

Harrison County Veterans are eligible for interment in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Ky. Spouses and other eligible dependents may qualify for interment as well. Clothing Closet is located at 103 N. Main (beside Cynthiana Presbyterian Church) and is open Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m. The Clothing Closet will have boxes at both entrances of Walmart for coats, blankets, and winter items through Oct. 30.
